NAB Barossa Gourmet weekend success

24 Aug, 2010 02:29 PM
The fine weather played a significant part in attracting thousands of visitors and locals to this year’s gourmet weekend hosted in the area.

According to NAB Barossa Gourmet Weekend event manager Mel Maschio, this was the best gourmet ever.

She explained apart from the weather, it was the 23 participating wineries which helped to created a host of activities and entertainment to suit the entire family. “This year the event attracted good types of crowds - mainly families,” Mel said.

“There were a lot of kids about because there was a strong focus on events for them, and if the children are happy, the parents tend to stay.”

It was the haystack at Pindarie, off Gomersal Road, which was a huge hit with the children.

Mel added that most winery operators said patrons enjoyed the moment and were keen to soak up the atmosphere.
