The Barossa Health Advisory Council wants to hear the community views about the future of the region’s health services.
Are you happy with the current range of services offered in the area?
Do you think that there are health issues or gaps in service provision that need to be addressed?
Across the next few months, the Barossa Advisory Council will work in collaboration with Country Health SA to formulate a draft 10-year health service plan.
To make sure the community views and ideas are taken into account, the advisory council wants you to have your say.
Questionnaires were distributed last week to all private households in the Barossa.
This brochure asks your opinion of the health service in the Barossa and surrounds.
The advisory council would like to hear from as many people as possible, so please take the time to fill in the survey and return it by November 27.
Along with the written survey, there will be a series of community engagement sessions called ‘focussed conversations’.
These sessions will be held in late November and early December across the Barossa and Gawler region.
This will help to gain more detailed information about the community expectations of a health service.
The Barossa Health Advisory Council would encourage people to attend these sessions when they are advertised later this month.
Feedback and comments, either in writing or through attendance at one of the community engagement sessions, would be appreciated and will assist in planning for the future health needs of the Barossa.
For those interested in getting involved with the health advisory council, and advocating on behalf of the community regarding health services for the future, the annual general meeting will be held on November 25 at the Nuriootpa Senior Citizen’s Hall from 7.30pm.
All interested members of the community are welcome to attend.
If you require any further information please contact 8561 2113.
If you know someone with a disability, mental health issue or serious health condition that would make it difficult for them to participate in the health survey; you are encouraged to support this person by helping them to complete the survey or advocate on their behalf.
