Jodie Clark has put up her hand to walk through the Flinders Ranges in October to raise funds for cancer support.
The Nuriootpa resident will join 20 other women from around the state who will take part in the inaugural Footing it for Flinders fundraising initiative.
For Jodie, the event will mean more than fresh air and picturesque outback scenery.
She is keen to support her good friend Felishia Abbott, a cancer survivor.
“Felishia was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007 at 27-years of age,” Jodie said.
Jodie explained Felishia is an amazing woman who has organised the walk to raise $100,000 for Flinders Medical Centre for their innovation in cancer.
The event will mean a five-day trek, which will take in areas at Spear Creek, Parachilna Gorge, Blinman and Wilpena Pound.
From this week, Jodie will begin an intensive training scheme and will also be calling on Barossa businesses to help provide financial support for her journey.
She is encouraging the public to help her reach her fundraising target of $5000.
To date, she has raised over $200 and is keen for a corporate sponsor to provide $500.
