Beckwith Park is preparing to auction off a range of bottling equipment and sell a complete bottling line.
Jeremy Blanks, Beckwith Park chief executive officer, explained that Friday, October 23, will see parts from two bottling lines go under the hammer.
The lines have been dismantled and arranged in small lots to be auctioned by Evans Clarke.
The small lots will soon be catalogued and inspection will be available by appointment.
The complete line for sale is currently being used by Foster’s to bottle the Penfolds Bin range.
The Fosters lease on the line runs during the first quarter of 2010.
Classified as a high-speed line, it is capable of processing 15,000 bottles per hour.
This line will be sold by expressions of interest through Gaetjens Langley - wine industry brokers and advisors.
The options, for potential purchasers, will be to buy the line and lease warehouse space from Beckwith Park - to keep it at the current location, or to dismantle and relocate it.
Gauging the level of interest in these items is not easy.
“It is hard to know,” Mr Blanks said. “We don’t know until we put it out there.”
In its favour is the age of the lines, with some items less than five years old.
“It is good quality, European equipment that has been well looked after,” Mr Blanks said.
The range of equipment to be auctioned includes conveyer belts, pumps and bottle fillers just to name a few items.
There is an expectation that people from outside the wine industry may be interested - as there are items that could easily be adapted to other manufacturing tasks.
