Barossa food culture

08 Oct, 2009 08:25 AM
There was plenty of opportunity to taste, savour and discuss Barossa food and culture last week.

The Barossa Slow event has been declared a success by the organisers.

Jan Angas said it was terrific to see Barossa producers and consumers get together to re-cement the value of the region’s food culture.

“We were delighted with the mix of events on the program,” Mrs Angas said. “And the importance placed on the Barossa’s agricultural culture.”

The ‘talking tables’ feature of the weekend event put visitors to the region in contact with Barossa ambassadors.

Some of the speakers at the ‘talking tables’ have international profiles, and others are heroes in their own back yards.

“The best thing was they all live, eat and breath the place,” Mrs Angas said.
